This position plays an important role in employee recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, personnel records management, workers' compensation, employee programs, and general HR operations.\nThe ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service to employees, applicants, citizens, and vendors.\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n• Assist with employee benefits administration, including processing benefit deductions and HRIS updates.\n• Support recruiting and hiring activities by preparing job requisitions, posting job openings, sourcing candidates, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews and testing, and preparing interview materials.\n• Maintain personnel files and human resources records.\n• Assist employees with questions regarding benefits, policies, and human resources procedures.\n• Provide support for workers' compensation, employee safety initiatives, and training programs.\n• Assist with planning and coordinating employee programs, including open enrollment, employee recognition programs, volunteer initiatives, and health fairs.\n• Maintain labor law posters, safety postings, and human resources bulletin boards in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.\n• Communicate effectively with employees, citizens, third-party vendors, and other stakeholders.\n• Perform related administrative and human resources duties as assigned.\n\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\n• High School Diploma or GED required.\n• Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.\n• Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in Human Resources or a closely related field.\n• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.\n• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.\n• Strong written and verbal communication skills.\n• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and customer service abilities.\n• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive personnel information.\n\nEMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS\n• Successful completion of a background investigation.\n• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening.\n• Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination.\n• Valid Florida Driver License required prior to employment and must be maintained throughout employment.\n• Ability to perform duties involving regular and sustained physical activity.\n\nBENEFITS\nThe City of Zephyrhills offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes:\n• Medical Insurance\n• Dental Insurance\n• Life Insurance\n• Florida Retirement System (FRS)\n• Paid Leave and Holidays\n• Employee Wellness and Recognition Programs\n• Professional Development Opportunities\n\nWHY JOIN THE CITY OF ZEPHYRHILLS?\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Human Resources professional seeking a Human Resources Assistant job in Zephyrhills, Florida.
